Petco, the national chain of over 1400 pet food and supplies, has leased retail space in Daphne’s Jubilee Square, off of Hwy 90 in Daphne. Jubilee Square is anchored by The Home Depot and Carmike Jubilee Square 12 Cinema.
Petco is rumored to be in merger talks with Petsmart, a similar national retailer with thousands of stores nationwide. It’s notable that Petco’s expansion into the Eastern Shore market (as well as the greater Mobile area) is placing stores in different locations from existing Petsmart stores, driving speculation that this area would not see store closures if the merger does take place.
